Considering the large-scale malpractices and leakages in exams, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission canceled the RO and EO exams. However, the matter regarding the SI (Sub Inspector) exam has been pending for a long time. Both the SOG and the ministerial subcommittee set up to handle this issue recommended clearly that it would be just to cancel the SI exam. Meanwhile, due to Kirori BabaтАЩs lack of engagement, unemployed youth are expressing intense anger.
Concrete data is not available, but it is estimated that more than 50% of selected candidates used unfair means to clear the SI exam. Given the widespread irregularities and extensive leakage, both the SOG and the ministerial subcommittee firmly recommended that this exam be canceled promptly to protect the interests of the unemployed.More than two weeks have passed since the subcommittee’s recommendation, but Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has distanced himself from the issue by simply repeating that they will catch the “big fish” responsible. This remark has now become tiresome and meaningless; if the big fish are to be jailed, then why delay their arrest? Is there political pressure shielding them, allowing them to enjoy luxurious lives?
Meanwhile, the SOG has clarified that there was no misconduct on the part of the RPSC. The SOG has given a clean chit to RPSC Chairman Sanjay Shrotriya, Deepak Upreti, and Bhupendra Yadav. If all RPSC officials are clean, where will the CM catch the big fish from? His catchphrase has now become a laughing stock.
Dr. Kirorilal Meena’s passivity and silence on the matter have raised questions. Unemployed youth are widely saying that BabaтАЩs resignation from the Cabinet was just high-level theatrics. To secure a ticket for his brother, Jagmohan, he staged this resignation drama and betrayed the unemployed youth.
A young man from Baswa expressed his frustration, saying that the unemployed donтАЩt matter to Kirori; only his brotherтАЩs victory does. By manipulating the sentiments of unemployed youth, he has exposed his true character. This betrayal will prove costly for Kirori and his brother Jagmohan.
The ball is now in the CMтАЩs court. Simply talking about catching the “big fish” wonтАЩt solve the problem; the CM must show determination and resolve. Otherwise, Bhajanlal may face the same fate as Gehlot. The bigger crime is protecting the wrongdoer. Observing the current scenario, itтАЩs evident that the CM is hesitant to cancel the SI exam.IтАЩve said it before, and IтАЩll say it again: the issue of the SI exam will either fade away or end up tangled in the courts. ItтАЩs unlikely that the state government will take a comprehensive decision. If a widely accepted decision on the SI exam is not taken, it will mark BhajanlalтАЩs most significant political failure.
