Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday criticized central investigative agencies, claiming they were focusing on trivial matters like “chicken theft” while ignoring more significant cases such as the examination paper leaks in Uttar Pradesh. He accused the BJP of being behind these paper leaks in states under its rule and suggested that the money generated from such activities was being used to fund their election campaigns.

Soren alleged that the BJP used the proceeds from paper leaks to manipulate the electoral process by buying legislators and MPs. He pointed out the stark contrast between the attention given to minor issues and the lack of action on the paper leak scandals, even though agencies like the ED, CBI, and NIA have the resources to investigate them. “The BJP is behind the leaks, and with the money they make, they buy political influence,” Soren said in a post on X.

He also referenced the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, which resulted in several deaths, and mentioned that in Jharkhand, his government enacted strict laws to prevent paper leaks. However, he claimed that the BJP opposed these laws by taking them to the GovernorтАЩs office. Soren further contended that if he had not been “targeted” by the ED and CBI with what he called false charges, he would have been able to create numerous government positions and carry out large-scale recruitment.
