Gorakhpur: Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath once again demonstrated his deep reverence for women and his commitment to establishing them as a symbol of strength in society. On Friday, during the Kanya Pujan ritual held at the Gorakhnath Temple on the occasion of the Navami tithi of Sharadiya Navratri, CM Yogi washed the feet of nine young girls, considered to be embodiments of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. He performed their ceremonial worship, draped them with chunari (a traditional cloth), performed their aarti, offered them food with respect, and presented them with gifts and monetary offerings before receiving their blessings. He also followed the traditional practice of worshipping young boys (Batuk Pujan).

On Friday, Yogi Adityanath, following tradition, washed the feet of all nine young girls one by one using water from a brass plate at his residence on the first floor of the temple complex. He applied a tilak on their foreheads using roli (vermilion), sandalwood paste, curd, rice grains, and freshly grown barley from the temple’s Shakti Peeth. He then adorned them with garlands, draped them in chunaris, and presented them with gifts and offerings, seeking their blessings. After the puja, CM Yogi personally served them fresh meals prepared in the templeтАЩs kitchen. In addition to these nine girls, a large number of other young girls and boys also participated in the ritual and were served food, given gifts, and offerings with devotion.

The joy and happiness on the faces of the young girls and boys, who received love and care from CM Yogi Adityanath, were truly heartwarming. With respect and affection, the Chief Minister washed the feet of each of the nine girls and Batuk Bhairav boys and performed their worship. The children were visibly elated after receiving gifts and offerings directly from the CM. Throughout the meal, Yogi Adityanath engaged in conversation with them and ensured that no child’s plate was lacking food. He continued to instruct the temple staff to make sure everyone was well taken care of.

During the ceremony, Gorakhnath TempleтАЩs head priest Yogi Kamalnath, along with Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das (also known as Satuwa Baba) from Kashi, Dwarka Tiwari, Virendra Singh, Durgesh Bajaj, Amit Singh Monu, and Vinay Gautam, were present. Earlier that morning, CM Yogi also performed rituals to worship Goddess Siddhidatri at the temple’s Shakti Peeth.
