Nine people were injured in a stampede during a rush to board a train at Mumbai’s Bandra railway station early Sunday morning, according to a civic official.

The incident happened at 5:56 a.m. on platform one of Bandra Terminus, where crowds were trying to board the 22921 Bandra-Gorakhpur Express, as reported by a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official.

The injured individuals were taken to Bhabha Hospital for treatment. Authorities identified the injured as Shabhir Abdul Rehman (40), Parmeshwar Sukhdar Gupta (28), Ravindra Harihar Chuma (30), Ramsevak Ravindra Prasad Prajapati (29), Sanjay Tilakram Kangay (27), Divyanshu Yogendra Yadav (18), Mohammad Shareef Shaikh (25), Indrajith Sahani (19), and Noor Mohammad Shaikh (18).
