Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched several development projects worth approximately ₹23,300 crore from Washim in Maharashtra. These projects are related to the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors. Mr. Modi also released the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. On this occasion, he mentioned that over 9.4 crore farmers across the country have received direct financial benefits, amounting to more than ₹20,000 crore.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Banjara Heritage Museum in Poharadevi, Washim, which is dedicated to the rich heritage of the Banjara community. The four-story museum features 13 galleries that showcase the legacy of Banjara community leaders and their movements through illustrations.
During the event, Mr. Modi highlighted the steps taken by the government for the welfare of the Banjara community. After arriving in Washim, he paid floral tributes at the memorials of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj, spiritual leaders of the Banjara community. The Prime Minister also performed darshan and pooja at the Jagdamba Temple in Poharadevi, Washim.
