In the aftermath of NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has come under heavy investigation, with authorities probing its potential involvement. Siddique was shot dead outside his office in Mumbai on Saturday night, and within hours, a member of the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing.
As the investigation progresses, details from the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) interrogation of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated. Bishnoi disclosed to the NIA several names on his gang’s hit-list, some of whom have already met violent fates, while others remain under threat.
Salman Khan
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is one of Bishnoi’s main targets. The gangster seeks revenge for Khan’s involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which is considered sacrilege by the Bishnoi community. According to NIA documents, Bishnoi previously dispatched his aide, Sampat Nehra, to survey Khan’s Mumbai residence, but Nehra’s arrest by Haryana Police’s Special Task Force halted the plan.
In April 2024, Khan’s house was again attacked when gunmen fired shots, though no one was injured in the incident.
Shaganpreet Singh
Another target on Bishnoi’s hit list is Shaganpreet Singh, the manager of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Bishnoi holds Singh responsible for sheltering the killers of Vicky Middukhera, a close associate of Bishnoi who was murdered in Mohali in August 2021. Bishnoi viewed Middukhera as an elder brother and seeks retribution by eliminating Singh.
Mandeep Dhariwal
Mandeep Dhariwal, an associate of the absconding gangster Gaurav Padial (also known as Lucky Padial), also found himself on Bishnoi’s hit-list for allegedly assisting those who murdered Vicky Middukhera. Dhariwal, who managed Padial’s business, was gunned down in the Philippines, and the Goldy Brar gang, aligned with Lawrence Bishnoi, took credit for the killing.
Kaushal Chaudhary
Bishnoi has also set his sights on notorious gangster Kaushal Chaudhary, who is currently imprisoned in Gurugram. Linked to the rival Bambiha gang, Chaudhary allegedly provided weapons to Middukhera’s killers. Bishnoi has made it clear that he is determined to eliminate Chaudhary.
Amit Dagar
Another figure on Bishnoi’s radar is jailed gangster Amit Dagar, who is connected to a rival gang. Dagar, a close ally of Kaushal Chaudhary, was involved in Middukhera’s murder and has confessed to multiple killings and extortion cases. He was apprehended after a shootout in Gurugram in 2018.
These revelations surface as the Lawrence Bishnoi gang faces mounting scrutiny following their claimed involvement in the murder of Baba Siddique, which investigators are treating as a contract killing. The gang’s sprawling network, with more than 700 shooters across 11 states, has drawn comparisons to the infamous criminal syndicate of Dawood Ibrahim.
