
Four individuals were hospitalized after a school bus carrying over 40 children overturned in Northern Ireland.
According to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), the accident took place in County Down, involving 43 schoolchildren and one driver. Eight of the children received treatment at the scene near Carrowdore for their injuries.
Images from the incident revealed the bus overturned in a field, and the NIAS classified it as a major incident, prompting a swift response from paramedics, firefighters, and police.
The mother of a 12-year-old boy, a student at Strangford Integrated College, reported hearing students screaming over the phone after the bus flipped over. He suffered a head injury during the incident.
Authorities have closed the road and are advising motorists to avoid the area.
Local SDLP politician Will Polland stated that concerns regarding the road where the accident happened had been raised multiple times before.
