
In a tragic incident from Sindh province, Pakistan, a young girl allegedly poisoned 13 members of her family, leading to their deaths after they refused to let her marry her boyfriend, according to police reports.
The event took place on August 19 in Haibat Khan Brohi village, near Khairpur. The girl was taken into custody on Sunday, and during the investigation, it was discovered that the poisoning occurred after her family rejected her choice of partner.
Senior police officer Inayat Shah confirmed that all 13 victims became ill after consuming the poisoned food and were rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, none survived.
“All 13 individuals fell seriously ill after eating and were immediately taken to the hospital, but they did not survive. Post-mortem examinations revealed that they had died due to consuming poisoned food,” Shah reported from Khairpur.
Further investigation revealed that the girl and her boyfriend had poisoned the wheat used to prepare rotis for the family.
Girl Confesses to Poisoning Family with Boyfriend’s Assistance
The girl, frustrated by her family’s opposition to her marriage, confessed after her arrest on Sunday. Police officer Inayat Shah stated that she admitted to lacing the wheat with poison with the help of her boyfriend.
She became the prime suspect as she was the only surviving member of the extended family affected by the poisoning. Under intense interrogation, she eventually confessed to mixing a toxic liquid, provided by her boyfriend Amir Bakhsh Brohi, into the family’s food in an attempt to force them to accept her marriage choice.
