The residence is situated near the vacation home of Prince Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her husband Jack.

Residents living near Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s £6.3 million holiday home in Comporta, Portugal, are raising concerns about the increasing trend of wealthy foreigners purchasing coastal properties.

Developers now have the ability to build on public beaches and label them as “private,” restricting access for locals. Previously, such developments were prohibited, but new regulations have allowed the privatization of these scenic natural areas, according to the Mirror.

One local resident expressed anger, describing it as “the worst thing to happen to the Portuguese coast,” while another lamented the diminishing availability of land for locals who have enjoyed the area for generations. Another resident shared, “I’ve been visiting this spot for years, even camping here, but now, thanks to this company, that’s no longer possible.”

The holiday property is located near Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack’s summer retreat, about an hour from Lisbon. Nestled in the exclusive CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, designed by the luxury Denton House, it is known for its stunning beaches and serves as a private getaway for the affluent.

Since stepping away from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have relocated to a £23.6 million mansion in Montecito, California, where they reside near celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Katy Perry.
