Recent reports indicate that Israeli airstrikes are now targeting the city of Tyre in northern Lebanon as well.

At least 73 people have been killed in an overnight Israeli airstrike on Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, according to the Gaza Government Media Office. Many more remain trapped under the rubble, with the death toll expected to rise.

Local residents and eyewitnesses have described these airstrikes as the most brutal since Israel imposed its siege on northern Gaza 16 days ago. Doctors, UN officials, and aid agencies are being overwhelmed with emergency calls, pleading for help to rescue people trapped under debris, and requesting water.

There are only three operational hospitals in the besieged area, and since the siege began, all ground aid to northern Gaza has been cut off.

In a related incident, Israeli airstrikes hit southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, on Sunday morning, targeting at least two buildings, including one adjacent to a hospital and mosque, according to Lebanese media.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that one of the strikes hit a residential building in the Haret Hreik area. These airstrikes followed a brief three-day lull in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, and were carried out after a reported drone attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence, which he blamed on Iranian proxies.

Prior to the strikes, the Israeli military had warned civilians living near Hezbollah-affiliated buildings in the area to evacuate immediately, but residents claimed they were not given sufficient time.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the airstrikes targeted a Hezbollah intelligence command center and an underground weapons production facility in Beirut, killing three senior operatives. Adraee identified the killed individuals as Hezbollah commander Al-Haj Abbas Salama, who had been involved in planning operations against Israel, wireless communications expert Rada Abbas Awada, and strategic arms overseer Ahmad Ali Hussein, who had received training in Iran.

According to Adraee, the strikes were part of a broader Israeli military campaign to counter Hezbollah’s efforts to acquire advanced weaponry capable of targeting Israeli forces.

Israel has reported targeting around 175 sites in Gaza and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, with no signs of the conflict de-escalating. Recent reports also indicate Israeli airstrikes hitting the city of Tyre in northern Lebanon.
