After praising Prime Minister Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly advocated for India’s inclusion in the list of superpowers. In a bold message to the world, he declared, “India also deserves a place among global superpowers.”

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin, after praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, has now stated that India deserves to be included in the list of global superpowers. Putin’s statement has taken the world by surprise, particularly nations that aim to assert dominance and influence globally. He mentioned that India fully deserves to be in the league of global powers, as its economy is currently growing faster than any other country. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club’s plenary session in Sochi on Thursday, Putin also noted that Russia is developing ties with India in all areas, and both nations share deep mutual trust in their bilateral relations.

Putin stated, “With a population of 1.5 billion, the fastest-growing economy among all countries, an ancient culture, and great potential for future development, India unquestionably deserves a place among global powers.” He also praised India as a great nation, now the most populous in the world with a population growing by about 10 million people annually.

Putin emphasized that India is leading global economic progress. According to the Russian news agency TASS, he said, “The pace and direction of our relationship depend on today’s realities. Our cooperation is increasing exponentially every year.” He added that in the fields of security and defense, India and Russia are deepening their collaboration. “Look at how many types of Russian military equipment are in service with the Indian armed forces. There is a lot of trust in this relationship. We don’t just sell India weapons; we co-develop them,” he said, citing the BrahMos cruise missile project as an example. He elaborated, “In fact, we have adapted it (the missile) for use in three environments: air, sea, and land. These projects, which enhance India’s security, are ongoing.

“On India-China relations, Putin acknowledged the existing difficulties along their border. However, he expressed confidence that intelligent and capable leaders in both nations are working towards an agreement, and ultimately, they will find a solution, keeping in mind the long-term interests of their countries.
