Police report that the driver was “neutralized” and have launched an investigation into his motive. Medics noted that eight people were trapped beneath the truck, which rammed into a crowd at Glilot, close to an IDF intelligence base.

A man was killed, and 32 people were injured, including five critically, in a suspected truck-ramming terror attack at a bus stop near Herzliya on Sunday morning. The attack took place outside the IDF’s Glilot base, north of Tel Aviv. The driver, who rammed his truck into a crowd waiting at the bus stop, was shot and “neutralized” by armed civilians nearby, according to police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a bus had recently stopped to drop off passengers when a truck struck those at the station. Hamas later released a statement, referring to the incident as a “heroic ramming attack” near the “Mossad headquarters,” though it did not claim direct responsibility.

The Glilot area houses Israel’s Mossad headquarters and several IDF intelligence units, including Unit 8200.

The Magen David Adom emergency service reported that medics found eight people trapped beneath the truck and others injured around the area. Emergency personnel, including officers and ambulances, responded swiftly, with police securing the site and medics treating the wounded.

Following the incident, Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital initially reported one victim in critical condition, who was later pronounced dead. Many of the victims were elderly, visiting a nearby museum to commemorate those who lost their lives in the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre and the ensuing war. Police are continuing to investigate the motive and details surrounding the attack.
