Haryana’s fast bowler Anshul Kamboj made a remarkable entry into the record books on Friday, becoming just the third player in Ranji Trophy history to claim all 10 wickets in a single innings.
In the ongoing fifth-round match against Kerala at Lahli, Kamboj put on a sensational display of pace bowling, dismantling the Kerala top order by taking out four half-centurions before tea on Day 3. This performance also marked a milestone for Kamboj, as he surpassed 50 wickets in First-Class cricket in just his 19th match.Kamboj began Day 3 with eight wickets already in hand. He wasted no time, claiming his ninth wicket in the very first over of the day by getting rid of Basil Thampi. He completed his perfect 10-wicket haul by dismissing Shoun Roger, wrapping up Kerala’s innings for 291. Kamboj’s final bowling figures were 30.1-9-49-10.
Kamboj is now part of an exclusive group of bowlers, becoming only the third player in Ranji Trophy history to achieve this feat, after Premangsu Mohan Chatterjee and Pradeep Sunderam. Chatterjee was the first to accomplish this feat during the 1956-57 season for Bengal, while Sunderam achieved the same for Rajasthan in the 1985-86 season against Vidarbha. In addition to this milestone, Kamboj is the sixth Indian bowler overall to take all 10 wickets in a First-Class innings, joining legends such as Anil Kumble, Subhash Gupte, and Debasis Mohanty.
Kamboj’s stellar form this season has caught the attention of many. He recently represented India A in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup in Oman and began his domestic red-ball campaign with a remarkable eight-wicket haul in the Duleep Trophy. In that tournament, he became just the third pacer to take eight wickets in a match, following in the footsteps of Mohanty and Ashoke Dinda.

After a standout domestic season, Kamboj was picked up by Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season. He also played a key role in Haryana’s first-ever Vijay Hazare Trophy victory, finishing as one of the tournament’s leading wicket-takers with 17 wickets from 10 matches.
Kamboj has accumulated 23 wickets from 15 List-A games. Prior to making his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians, he had played only nine T20 matches.
