Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, expressed profound sorrow at the passing of Ratan Tata, the former head of the Tata Group, who died on October 9, 2024. Ambani took to X (formerly Twitter) to convey his condolences, stating, “It is a very sad day for India and India Inc. Ratan Tata’s passing away is a big loss, not just to the Tata Group but to every Indian.”

Ambani described Tata as one of India’s most kind-hearted sons and reflected on their personal friendship, noting that their interactions always left him inspired and energized. He praised Tata as a visionary industrialist and philanthropist who prioritized the greater good of society. “With the demise of Mr. Ratan Tata, India has lost one of her most illustrious and kind-hearted sons,” he wrote, highlighting Tata’s significant impact on the Tata Group and his role in bringing India to the world stage.

Ambani also extended heartfelt condolences to the Tata family and the entire Tata Group on behalf of Reliance and his family, concluding with a personal note: “Ratan, you will always remain in my heart. Om Shanti.”

Numerous other leaders and prominent figures from India Inc., including Anand Mahindra, Harsh Goenka, Gautam Adani, Sundar Pichai, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also shared their tributes. PM Modi praised Tata as a “visionary business leader” and an extraordinary human being, emphasizing his humility and unwavering commitment to societal improvement.
