In recognition of October as Mental Health Awareness Month, the Primary Wing of D.A.V. Public School, Sector 37, Faridabad, celebrated various activities under the guidance of our motivational Principal, Ms. Deepti Jagota.
Art serves as a therapeutic medium that enhances a positive attitude and provides a way to express our feelings. Students from Classes I to V participated in several art-based activities:
Classes I & II: Students created wrist bands and badges featuring positive affirmations to develop self-confidence and boost self-esteem.
Class III: Students illustrated tips for caring for mental health, focusing on positive thinking, confidence, and calm actions, emphasizing the importance of celebrating even the smallest victories.
Class IV: A card-making activity was conducted to help students reach developmental and emotional milestones while learning healthy social skills.
Class V: Students engaged in a poster-making activity to express positive qualities of life and highlight emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
Ms. Adarsh Sharma, the supervisory head of the Primary Segment, emphasised to the children that mental health is just as important as physical health. These activities are designed to help students understand how mental health affects their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They also teach children how to manage stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.
