Lucknow: There is a new update in the case of businessman Mohit Pandey’s death in police custody in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Magistrate-led inquiries have been ordered for this case. The SP of Vibhuti Khand has written to the DM requesting a magistrate’s investigation, which the DM has approved. An officer of ADM rank will conduct the inquiry and submit a report. Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Mohit Pandey’s family, directing them to provide compensation of ₹10 lakh, housing, free education for the children, and benefits from government schemes.Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav criticized the government, suggesting that if only the compensation for lost lives could also restore life. A delegation from the SP also met with Mohit’s family and provided them with ₹1 lakh in assistance. Mohit Kumar Pandey, a 30-year-old resident of Jainabad, was taken into custody by the police on Saturday in connection with a case.It is reported that his health deteriorated while in custody that same day, and he died during treatment at the hospital. However, Mohit’s family has accused the police of beating him to death.Death in Police Custody on October 11Earlier, on October 11, a 24-year-old named Aman Gautam died in police custody after being arrested during a raid on a gambling den in Lucknow. Gautam’s family has alleged that the police beat him to death. According to officials, a police team conducted a raid at Ambedkar Park in Sector 8 of Vikas Nagar after receiving reports of gambling taking place on the night of October 11. The police detained Aman Gautam along with two others.
