
Noida, April 9 – An HPV Vaccination Camp was organized at Panchsheel Balak Inter College, Sector 91, Noida, to protect young girls from cervical cancer. Over 500 girls between the ages of 9 and 26 were given the Gardasil vaccine free of cost.
The campaign was supported by *Akanksha Samiti Gautam Buddha Nagar, **Rotary Club of Delhi Okhla City, Felix Hospitals, Khoobsurat D, the District Administration, and Noida Authority.
The event was graced by Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, who emphasized the importance of timely vaccination for girls. She highlighted how the HPV vaccine, once costing ₹2500, is now available at ₹1500 due to government efforts. She urged industries to support such causes under CSR and encouraged people to “adopt” girls for vaccination. “Keeping children healthy is like worshipping God,” she said.
Dr. D.K. Gupta, Chairman of Felix Hospitals, shared that cervical cancer affects over 1.2 lakh Indian women every year, causing around 70,000 deaths. He explained that the HPV vaccine is a powerful way to prevent it and is administered in 2-3 doses, depending on the age group.
Dr. Ankita Raj, President of Akanksha Samiti, stressed that it’s our duty to protect our daughters from this disease. She also thanked Dr. Ajay Rana for inspiring her to get her 8-year-old daughter vaccinated.
Students from multiple government schools were vaccinated during the event, including *600 girls from Hoshiarpur Balika Inter College. Class 8 student *Happy Khushi, who anchored the event and got vaccinated herself, shared her experience, saying she felt completely normal with no side effects.
This campaign wasn’t just about vaccines — it was about creating awareness, breaking stigma, and ensuring a healthier future for India’s daughters.
The event also saw the presence of MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MLAs Pankaj Singh and Dhirendra Singh, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, DM Manish Kumar Verma, Dr Ankita Raj, healthcare leaders, educators, and members of IMA and RWAs.
Speakers unanimously emphasized the importance of HPV vaccination as a life-saving shield for girls, and called for such initiatives to be expanded across communities.
