Hyderabad, Telangana: Most of the facilities and hospitals for cancer treatment in Telangana are present in Hyderabad city itself. According to the data presented, there are a total of 26 cancer treatment hospitals in the state, out of which 14 are government and 12 are private. For this reason, maximum number of cancer patients come to Hyderabad for treatment.
According to the recently released data, the number of cancer patients undergoing treatment in Telangana is 12,517, out of which most of the patients are treated in Hyderabad only. This figure is much higher than other cities of the state, which is a clear indication that Hyderabad remains the main center for cancer treatment.
Experts believe that due to the availability of many high-class medical facilities, trained doctors and state-of-the-art technology in Hyderabad, patients expect treatment here. Whereas in other parts of the state, due to lack of facilities in the region, patients have to travel long distances for treatment.
Apart from government hospitals, private institutions have also played an important role in cancer treatment and research. These two areas together make Hyderabad a major hub for cancer treatment. Due to this, patients from remote areas or small towns also come to Hyderabad in large numbers.
The Telangana government has started taking steps towards expanding medical facilities at the regional level, but many parts of the state still lag behind in terms of cancer treatment. According to experts, it is necessary to provide cancer treatment facilities in more and more regional hospitals so that patients can be spared from the long and expensive journey.
Overall, Hyderabad is a bright haven for cancer patients in Telangana, with better care, treatment techniques and expert doctors available. However, it is necessary that in future the cancer treatment network in the state should be expanded so that all patients can get treatment in a convenient manner.
